The Center for Ocean Technology Education (COTE), at the MIT Sea Grant College Program, is committed to advancing K-12 science education in the fields of ocean technology and coastal sciences by offering innovative teacher-training opportunities that have both classroom and real world application.

COTE focuses on developing opportunities for teacher training and public outreach that bring current and unique science and technology out of the laboratory and into the hands of students, professionals and the general public. We offer professional development opportunities to teachers not only in Massachusetts but teachers across the US and around the world. The programs (in addition to Sea Perch) that offer workshops are:

COTE provides teachers with rich content on cutting edge ocean science and technology that they would not be exposed to during routine professional development at their schools. By bringing real world science to the classroom as a hands-on approach to learning we are engaging students and create the newest generation of coastal stewards.
